At A+ Aspirateur, protecting your privacy and personal information is a priority. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, and protect your personal information, in accordance with applicable laws in Québec, including Law 25.

Our online store is hosted by Shopify Inc., whose servers may be located outside Québec or Canada (including in the United States). By using our website https://www.aplusaspirateur.com (the “Site”) or our services, you acknowledge and agree that your information may be stored or processed in other jurisdictions. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the Site or our services.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We collect personal information through various means:

• Online forms: registration, quote request, purchase;

• Emails or phone calls with our customer service;

• Cookies and tracking technologies;

• In-store video surveillance (security);

• Mobile applications (if applicable).

3.1 Types of information collected

• Contact details: name, address, phone number, email;

• Payment information:

  • Online purchases: payment is processed securely by Shopify or an integrated processor; A+ Aspirateur never has access to the full card number or CVV;

  • In-store / on-the-road purchases: entered into a secure terminal (only the last 4 digits may be retained);

• Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, visit duration, etc.;

• Preferences: purchase history, interests, interactions with the Site.

3.2 Tracking technologies (cookies, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Analytics & Conversions API)

With your explicit consent collected via the Avada Cookie Consent banner, we use cookies and similar technologies (including Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Analytics, Conversions API and equivalent tools) to:

• analyze Site traffic and performance;

• personalize content, recommended products, and offers;

• measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and deliver relevant ads on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

These tools may transmit to third parties such as Meta Platforms Ireland and TikTok (and their affiliates) certain technical or pseudonymized data, for example: IP address, browsing identifiers, device information, pages viewed, events (add to cart, purchase), and—where the platform allows—encrypted identifiers (hashed email address or phone number).

This data may be processed in other jurisdictions (including the European Union, the United States, and Singapore). You may withdraw or modify your consent at any time by clicking “Manage my cookies” at the bottom of the Site or by adjusting the privacy settings in your browser and in your Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok accounts.

USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We use your information for the following purposes:

• Order processing: management, billing, delivery, and order tracking;

• Customer service: answering questions, technical support, handling returns and complaints;

• Site improvement: personalization, testing, statistical analysis, and fraud prevention;

• Marketing, personalization, and ad retargeting: sending newsletters (if you have consented), targeted promotions, and retargeting on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok;

• Legal and regulatory obligations: maintaining accounting records, responding to requests from competent authorities.

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may share your information with:

• Service providers: payment, shipping, hosting, backup, analytics, and digital advertising (e.g., Shopify, Rewind, Meta, Google, TikTok). Some are located outside Québec; where cross-border transfers occur, we use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), certifications (SOC 2), or other equivalent safeguards to govern these transfers.

• Business transactions: in the context of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to equivalent confidentiality commitments.

• Public authorities or regulatory bodies: where required by law or to protect our rights, those of our customers, or the public.

These third parties must protect your information in accordance with the law and this Policy and may use it only for the purposes for which they receive it.

5.1 Data backup (Rewind)

Rewind performs automated backups of the store; data is encrypted and hosted in Canada, SOC 2 compliant. See https://rewind.com/privacy-policy/.

5.2 TikTok advertising and measurement

When you have consented to marketing cookies, certain interactions on our Site (page views, add to cart, purchases, etc.) may be shared with TikTok via the TikTok Pixel or equivalent integrations in order to:

• measure the performance of our TikTok ads;

• create retargeting audiences (e.g., people who visited the Site);

• optimize ad delivery to customers with similar interest profiles.

You can disable these technologies at any time via the cookie banner or TikTok privacy settings.

SECURITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We apply physical, technological, and administrative measures, including:

• Secure premises and restricted access;

• Firewalls, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest and in transit;

• Multi-factor authentication (2FA) for all Shopify, Meta, TikTok, and Rewind administrator access;

• Ongoing staff training;

• Incident log and internal notification procedure—if a breach presents a serious risk, we will notify the CAI and affected individuals within 72 hours.

RETENTION PERIOD

We retain information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law. For example, invoices and accounting records are retained for 7 years to comply with federal and provincial tax obligations; after that period, data is securely destroyed or anonymized.

YOUR RIGHTS

In accordance with Law 25, you have the following rights:

• Access;

• Rectification;

• Withdrawal / objection to processing or disclosure;

• Portability (in certain cases);

• De-indexing (right to cessation of dissemination);

• Filing a complaint with Québec’s Commission d’accès à l’information (CAI) (https://www.cai.gouv.qc.ca).

To exercise these rights, email confidentialite@aplusaspirateur.com; an acknowledgment of receipt will be sent within 10 business days, and a response within a maximum of 30 days.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Policy to reflect legal or operational changes. Significant changes will be communicated:

• via a banner on the Site, and/or

• by email to registered customers.

The “Last updated” date at the top of this document will be revised accordingly.
